Strategic Alignment of People to Business Outcomes
“The recession made us question where we were going and how we were doing it. Now that we know, how do we insure we have the right people in the right positions, working on the things we want them to?”
“We have a significant technological change coming in the next quarter. How do we know our people will embrace the change and perform as we want them to?”
The licensed Industrial/Organizational psychologists of Carr and Associates use assessments as the cornerstone of virtually every client implementation. That said, we also have a keen business sense and realize that measurement alone is useless unless tied to an organization’s bottom-line. As part of our holistic service model, we perform strategic projects that align our client’s Human Resources to business outcomes. Some noted projects completed by our Carr consultants include:
- Create a safety culture in a transportation environment in order to reduce accidents and the cost of specific accidents. Assessments were used to identify likelihood of accident rates among employees and appropriate interventions were applied. On average, accident rates were reduced by 20% and the cost of each accident was reduced by 15.
- Work as a vital cog of vetting teams to determine the likelihood of a successful merger/acquisition based on corporate value similarity. Projects have included selecting the new leadership team, organizing employees in terms of value-add to the organization, defining new corporate culture, training/informing employees concerning likely fit with the culture, and implementing processes to create the new environment and work process.
- Helping a 500 person sales organization with 8 product channels and 7 regions re-organize to a 400 person sales organization with 6 product channels and 5 regions. Specific job families were re-defined, customized assessment batteries were administered, and content custom reports were generated to facilitate the decision, placement, and training processes for these incumbents. A 15% sales improvement was achieved in year-over-year measures.
